The National Park Service maintains 10 developed campgrounds in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Conditions are spartan as there are no showers or electrical hookups. All park campgrounds operate on a first-come, first-serve basis until May 15, After that reservations only are accepted until Oct. 31.
Sites at Elkmont, Smokemont, and Cades Cove may be reserved by calling 1-800-365-2267 (park code: GREA). There is a $3 fee for advance reservations. Sites may be reserved up to five months in advance. All other campgrounds of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are first-come, first-serve year-round. Cosby Campground rarely fills.

No more than six people may occupy a site (two tents or one RV and one tent). Maximum stay in spring is 14 days.
